As our name suggests our group is involved in the promotion of safe driving in the North Yorkshire area. Other areas of associated safety are also part of our aim, with the support of other groups and of course our national group body - backed by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
Due to the very large nature of North Yorkshire some areas of the county may find themselves better served by another local group. That said, our membership extends far and wide, into parts of East Yorkshire, Humberside and Cleveland. Please feel free to contact us on any related issue, whether you are in our area or not. We are here to help promote safety and better driving.
The group membership entitles members to copies of our newsletter, access to meetings arranged from time to time, and free driver training to the standard required for the RoADA Advanced Driving test. The test includes a drive lasting about one hour, over a route covering a wide variety of road and traffic conditions. It is regarded as the most challenging available to the public. Our test has a grading system with three success levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold. The Gold pass is the highest civilian driving standard available. Because we want to keep the highest standards we take a retest every three years. These retests are free, all candidates receive a written test report on all aspects of their test.
To join the group please contact the Chairman / Training Officer.
